The concept of the human mind as a classical computer based on the solving of computational puzzles has been argued both for and against by a variety of different philosophers, scientists, and scholars. However, individuals such as Alan Turing and Kurt Gödel hold contradictory positions that demonstrate that a variety of possible outcomes may exist based on the future ability for evolutionary computing to be able to discover new symbols and to extend the range of operations in a way that the human mind currently functions.
